Tacos: Proof That My Unborn Child Is Not Of The Milkman
The first trimester has been a breeze for me thus far. The wife on the other hand, has been experiencing severe exhaustion, hormonal mood swings, headaches, that hungover morning feeling minus the enjoyment of a night consuming numerous gin and tonics and ravenous hunger. Non-pregnant wife has always been a small eater, happily subsisting for weeks on nothing but ice chips and lettuce. Pregnant wife on the other hand, can put away the grub. Thus far her predominant pregnancy craving has been tacos. We actually rolled to Taco Bell late one night because "Momma had a hankerin'" (the wife last made a Run For The Border during her junior year of college a decade ago). Last week after our first doctor's appointment, we spent over $30 dollars at Little Anitas on just tacos. I pride myself on my taco consumption and plan on matching the pregnant wife's totals anytime she sends me to an area taco stand during the wee hours of the morning. This is a sacrifice I am willing to make on behalf of my unborn child. I think this is the definition of unconditional love.

On your next late night taco run, you should come down to my ghetto hood and give Viva Burrito (Pecos & Hwy 36) a try. The shredded beef crunchy tacos and taquitos are greasy but crunchy and delicious. They aren't cheap, (about $2 a piece) but are pretty damn tasty.

There's also a "semi-authorized" Chubby's at ~84th and Washington, but I haven't been there yet. I think it's the same one that used to be at 76th and Federal.

Forgot to mention, the tacos at Little Anita's are really bland.. they taste like sawdust to me. I wish that place was as good as the hype.

Saltines (the really basic salted type in the big-ass white and blue box) are the cure for the morning nausea. It sounds silly, but 2 Saltines before getting out of bed in the morning will start the day off right. Momma will LOVE you if you force her into this routine, and you'll love momma b/c her fierce desire to rip your head off will subside. DO NOT TAKE THIS ADVICE LIGHTLY.

...but times are rough I seen her in the back of Taco Bell with handcuffs...

So, based on everyone's advice: yes to saltines, no to Little Anitas and yes to Viva Burrito. Sounds good. FYI: cooked up some delicious ground buffalo tacos last night for the Broncos game. Wife had 4. I had 8.

The reason the kid wants Messican food is because it's mine. Good luck teaching it English...
